This was an Adam paddle. There was a bit of easterly wind, so we followed the east side of the sound avoiding the worst of the swell. I did speak to some paddlers who had done a round-the-sound and they were claiming 2m swell on the west side. We had very little swell (maybe half a meter) and particularly round the south end of Jennycliff things were very tame. There was however a little bit more work to do in and after Rennie Rocks. There were places you could feel the effect of the wind (unusually, the Plym by Mountbatten was one of these), and that made paddling a bit more interesting.
Lovely stop for lunch, followed by a somewhat quicker paddle back.
I think high tide was around 10ish, which meant it was relatively high for a lot of the rock hopping. I still managed to get stuck a couple of times.
