I’ve not seen any photos. It was windy and interesting paddle. Dave had the yellow Atlantic and mentioned it feeling a bit tippy which made me feel a bit better. I had the red Atlantic LV as I had the week before, and found a missing washer from my kayak trolley (which needs gluing back on). We hugged the coast on the way out and I was looking forward to adjusting my footpedals at Mount Edgecombe again. However, this wasn’t to be. Pete decided to head out to the bridge, where there was a nice big swell. I make high tide 17:44 so that puts us there about one to one and a half hours after high tide (so that shouldn’t have made things too interesting). Nevertheless, we “surfed” back towards Drake’s Island on a big and messy swell (1.5 metres or more), and then cut across Winter and Mallard to get to Mountbatten. Maybe it’s good to be wedged in with tight footpedals in this weather? They feel right when I try it out, but I feel too wedged when I’m paddling.
